27th June – 2015 Annual Conference & Academic Committee Meeting of SKL PVST held at Trina Solar

On June 25 to 26, 2015, the Annual Conference & Academic Committee Meeting of State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology were held at the Trina Solar Headquarters in Changzhou.

Trina Solar Chairman and CEO Mr. Jifan Gao attended and addressed to the conference. He expressed warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the experts and guests in the conference, and highly acknowledged a number of technological achievements that have global impact accomplished by the laboratory during the past years. He hoped that all the members of the laboratory continue to carry forward the innovation spirit, take initiatives and become the leaders of all kinds of PV technologies in the future.

Dr. Zhiqiang Feng, Director of the State Key Laboratory of PV Science & Technology presented the summary report on the progress of the laboratory, and introduced the major research findings obtained by the laboratory, the science and technology projects that are being undertaken, and the future planning. Up until June 2015, the laboratory has obtained world records of solar cell transfer efficiency and module output power for 10 times, highlighting its growing innovation capability.
The conference invited 8 top-class experts in the photovoltaic technology field worldwide to present academic reports in the areas of simulation of device, material characterization, analysis of degradation mechanism, module reliability, technological risk and cost control, smart photovoltaic system, and tandem solar cells. They have also shared the research focus and development direction in PV industry.

The second term of the academic committee was established, and the appointment ceremony of the new academic committee was also held. The academic committee comprises of 11 outstanding experts in the photovoltaic field home and abroad. At the academic committee meeting held on the 26th, committee members had discussions on the topics of new R&D and industrialization technologies and challenges of the key laboratory, its development direction, and mission and positioning, jointly showing direction for the future development of the state key laboratory. Academic committee members all hoped that the laboratory would strengthen R&D breakthroughs in key technologies with its own R&D capability and the industry development trend. At the meantime, the laboratory should keep efficient cooperation with universities and research institutes to enhance its innovation capacity in the photovoltaic field.
